  • Brandywine Battlefield Historic Site - Scene of the 1777 battle fought between General George Washington and the Continental Army and British forces led by General Howe.
  • Brandywine River Museum - A 19th century gristmill converted into a museum exhibiting American art, including an extensive collection by Andrew Wyeth.
  • The Ephrata Cloister - One of the earliest religious communities in America, this gathering of European style building is now a National Historic landmark.
  • Gettysburg National Military Park - Home of the Gettysburg museum, site of the historic battle during the summer of 1863 and President Abraham Lincolns infamous Gettysburg Address.
  • Historic Rock Ford Plantation - the historic 18th century home of General Edward Hand
  • Lancaster Quilt and Textile Museum - Explore the rich and diverse textile traditions of Lancaster County.
  • Longwood Gardens - The spectacular former 1,000-acre estate of Pierre du Pont, this horticultural showplace is an easy drive from the Fassitt Mansion and houses over 11,000 types of plants both indoor and out.
  • National Civil War Museum - Located in Harrisburg, this amazing museum portrays the entire story of the American Civil War from a balanced, neutral perspective.
  • National Toy Train Museum - Open April through December.
  • Robert Fulton Birthplace - Located in Fulton (formerly Little Britain), Pennsylvania, this is the birthplace home of the famous inventor of the steamboat Strasburg Railroad -This historic railroad still has working coal-powered steam trains. A short drive from the Fassitt Mansion.
